The 3 selected film in 2019 festival and jury members statements

The Jury of International Dalarna Documentary Film Festival announced their decision today at the end of the festival screenings.
The jury members of International Dalarna Documentary Film Festival, Hamid Jafari from Iran, Marco Glijnis from Sweden and I Malek Shafi’i from Afghanistan watched about 52 movies from Afghanistan, Iran, and Kurdistan Iraq. Comparing to the quality of other movies the jury members found the below three movies more appropriate with the criteria that they have agreed upon in the current circumstances. Those criteria are originality, visual storytelling, and attention to the needs and concerns of documentary movie enthusiasts. Based on the mentioned criteria and the power of the story in addressing the challenges of today’s world including child labor, climate change and migration the following three movies more meet the above criteria.

The jury members thank all filmmakers who sent their movies to the festival and are working on a hard situation and with low budget to raise-awareness and help understanding of the challenges that we face today. International Dalarna Documentary film Festival 2019


International Dalarna Documentary Film Festival is going to be held in Sweden under the guidance of Dalarna international film association. The festival will be held in November for Three Days from first of November to third and we will be showing 25 films from Afghanistan, Iran and Kurdistan and the films are chosen by the jury’s

1:-  Hussain Danesh  is the critic of International Dala Documentry Film Festival.

Hussain Danesh Filmmaker, Technician and Film Critic.

Hussain Danesh was born in Kabul, Afghanistan.
He studied film making in Iranian Youth Cinema Society in Iran and also took a 2 years course at Film Making Center in Tehran (Ferdows Garden).

Danesh directed the short film of “Mirror” (1992) in Iran and worked at Afghan Film in Kabul as a film maker (1993 – 1995).
Danesh and Seddiq Barmak held a course in cinema at Afghan Film in Kabul (1994 – 1995).

Artistic consulting and stage designing of the “Wisper of the Buddha” with subject of Afghanistan, directed by Hossein Ghasemi Jami (Iranian film maker).

He also directed “ The Passage” a long documentary film about war in Kabul, 1993 – 1997 (winner of the Montreal film festival award, and also winner of the Human Rights prize for the best documentary film from the 2nd Documentary and Short Film Festival in Kabul.

Danesh migrated to Sweden in 2010 and since then he has been working as Camera technician in Swedish film industry in Gothenburg.

He is also a film critic with 30 articles about Afghan movies and cinema that have been published at BBC Persian, Nebesht, Afghan Newspaper 8 Sobh and Art magazine in Iran.

He has been also worked the Festival Executive Director at Afghan Film festival in Sweden 2015 – 2018.


2:- Helen Hemmati Hammarström.
Helen Hemmati Hammarström was born in Iran in 1964,
⁃ Completed a master’s degree in Tehran University (Fine Art Faculty), 1995
⁃ Theater director, (5 plays)
⁃ Playwright (14 plays) and dramaturge (2 plays)
⁃ Jury in short films and documentaries in the film festival
– Jury in theaters festivals (5 plays)
– Film critics (TV and magazines)
⁃ Thought drama in Art University of Tehran, drama department (1996-2002)


3:- Malek Shafie  Malek Shafi’I is an award winning documentary filmmaker who has made over thirty films on different topics. His last documentary won the Award of Excellence from Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival 2013. Malek is the founder and Director of Afghanistan International Human Rights Film festival. He worked as jury member of the Tolo TV Film Festival, Kabul Film Festival, Movies That Matter, My View Asian Bank, Tromso Film Festival and many more.
Currently he lives in Copenhagen .

He is a member of our jury group also.


4:- Mahbooba Ebrahimi
Mahbouba Ibrahimi was born at 1977 in Kandahar city of Afghanistan, then in 1981 her family immigrated to Iran. She grew up there and she could successfully graduate from Public HealthFaculty of Tehran University in 1999. She married at 1998 and then she came back to Afghanistan at 2006.

At the year 2009, she took part in a French filmmaking workshop in Kabul. As Cinema was always a the dream of hers over the years. For completion of her proficiency, she has gone to Paris at 2010 and 2011 to study Cinema closely at Ateliers Varan in this city of art and beauty.

She has participated in industry actively since 2009 and she has made four documentary films;

1. “Phantoms of the Zoo” (Anti-war, Social and Animal Rights / 2009)
2. “Allaoddin’s Girls” (Social and Children’s Right / 2009)
3. “A, B, C …” (Social and Disable’s Right / 2010)
4. “Permission to drive” (Social and Women Right / 2011)

“Phantoms of the Zoo”: This documentary is a film about the situation of Kabul Zoo during civil wars in the city, while nobody was in the city for taking care of animals living in Kabul Zoo and the Zoo had been attacked by many missiles.
“Phantoms of the Zoo” was shown by these festivals:

This film has had performance in Musée du quai Branly in Paris-France 2011.

This film has had a performance in Robin museum in New York and took award from this museum in June 2011.
2- “Allaoddin’s girls “is a film about Kabul Girl’s Orphanage” An orphan girl who lives in this orphanage wants to stay in the orphanage but her uncle tries to return her back to home and force her to marriage someone she doesn’t love. This film focuses on her lifestyle, her life concerns, as well as her relationships with outside world.
Film was shown by Women’s Voices from the Muslim World: A Short-Film
Festival in USA in November 2010.

3-“A, B, C …” (social and Handicap’s Rights). This film is about a disable girl that wants to become literated, but she cannot find any teacher who can taught her the lessons at her home in Kabul and her mother tries to find teacher.
Shown also in above festival.

4- “Permission to Drive “, is a film about women social activities in Kabul, this film is about afghan young woman who has come back to her home country Afghanistan from Iran, she tries to find a job in Kabul, but she doesn’t have the proper required skills then, she decides to learn driving and get her driving license in the Kabul, the city where women are not still accepted as drivers in the streets. Finally she could succeed to get a job in a travel agency.
This film has been selected for screening at Mumbai film festival as part of a special package of films from Afghanistan, called ‘Kabul Fresh’.


5:- Basir Seerat

Basir Seerat was born in 1983 in Malistan district of Ghazni province in Afghanistan.

Basir Seerat was and still, He is an important voice for social art, media, and human rights activities in Afghanistan.
Basir Seerat has been working with United Nation Office in Kabul as a photojournalist, Open Society Organization as deputy director, Third Eye Photojournalism Centre as chief-in-editor, Free Media Organization of Afghanistan “NAI” as a multimedia trainer and He was a lecturer and founder of the Photography Department in Kabul University.
Besides his professional works, he writes blogs with an extensive portfolio in the fields of human rights, freedom of speech and promotion of democratic culture, I was one of the arrangers of “Human Rights Week” two times with great success in Afghanistan.
He used film as an important tool of expression. “Caricaturists”, “Up to Alphabets”, “The voice of Flu City” “Gypsy Alphabets”, “Little Afghanistan”, “Bird Street Is My Home” and “Under the Eyes of Buddha” are some of the most important short films by me.
“Little Afghanistan” and “Bird Street is My Home” were shown at the international festivals for documentary films such as Leipzig and Documenta in Germany.
In recent years he is a young media activist has been attacked and terrorized many times by the enemies of freedom of speech. In 2004, Basir Seerat was kidnapped by the Taliban. After escaping from the Taliban jail, He continued my works with civil society, media, human rights, arts and culture organizations.He is playing my role for the positive change, for the developing of a democratic Afghanistan.
In 2012, he received his first award as a human rights artist and activist from the Image and Voice of Hope Organization “New York”.
His photographic and cinematic work has been exhibited widely in Afghanistan and abroad.

6:- Soroush Elmi
Soroush Elmi is a Kurdish Iranian film and theater producer, living in Stockholm.
Since he moved to Sweden in 2009, he started arranging cultural and artistic events, in different cities. In 2016, he launched his company, Matris Event & Production. He took more serious steps towards film making by getting a role as an executive producer in a feature film, “Logndagen” by Yagoob Keshavarz, selected at Austin and Durban film festivals.
He continued his career by producing a couple of theater plays at Kulturhuset-Stadsteatern Stockholm in 2017.
His recent short film project as a producer, “Black-Eared” by Behzad Azadi, has been selected to the Oscar-qualifying festival, the New Orleans film festival 2019.
Soroush is hosting “Art in City” a weekly radio show. He is also a curator at his private gallery, Studio Bee, in Stockholm.
In addition, he has been working with the Stockholm International Film Festival and Stockholm International Film Festival Junior.

International Dala Documentry Film Festival


Dalarna’s international documentary film festival

The Dalarna International Film Festival is focusing this year on documentary films from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

The International Dalarna Documentary Film Festival will be held in November 2019 in collaboration with Dalarna International Film Association. The goal of the festival is to introduce and connect nations with each other throughout the municipalities of Orsa and Mora in the northern part of the province of Dalarna.

The jury of this year’s festival films consists of:

  • Hamid Jafari; an Iranian documentary filmmaker, resident in Tehran.
  • Marco Glijnis; a Dutch filmmaker ad photographer, living in Sweden.
  • Malek Shafiei; an Afghan filmmaker, living in Denmark.

Films will be selected by the jury and exhibited throughout the Dalarna province in 1, 2 , 3 November.

The festival’s secretary and jury will invite filmmakers whose films have been previously selected by the jury, to explain why their film should attend the festival. This is on condition that they can travel to the European Union.


All of Dalarna’s International Film Festival will be awarded with a certificate of appreciation. Special Film Festival statuettes will be dedicated to the best films.

After the festival finishes, the likelihood of showing films under the name of the same festival and the views of the Dalarna International Film Festival and the collaboration of other associations in other parts of the Dalarna Province in Sweden will also be presented.


  1. Both short and long documentaries from international filmmakers with any theme (e.g. historical, archeological, nature, wildlife, social, Imagration) related to the aforementioned countries are accepted.
  2. All films must have correct English subtitles.
  3. ّThe films must be make finished January 2016 or after that.
  4. last date for sending film is 31 August 2019.
  5. The videos must be uploaded either on Google Drive – Dropbox – Vimeo with the appropriate MP4 or same quality, send to the festival’s email ( ) or via social media to the Festival’s secretary for first arbitration. After reviewing the best films will be selected and requested for  participation by the secretary.    Films have to be of good quality.
  6. Film makers must sent their CV & biography including ( Name, Last name, birth date, Birth place, Nationality ) A way to contact for example:  Email and Mobile NO or… and a short information about film including: (when Start to work, when finished work, in witch country you made film, witch group of peoples are in film, refugees, women, children, with nationality, because you make a film from refugees of a country in another country, clear these all if these information is unclear in some film same short film and what you think it is need to explain  ) all in Enghlish or Persian in a PDF.

International Dala Documentry Film Festivalفراخوان جشنواره بین الملی فیلم های دالارنا

جشنواره بین المللی فیلم دالارنا که امسال با تمرکز بر روی فیلم های مستند، از کشورهای افغانستان، ایران، سوریه، عراق و کردستان عراق تمرکز دارد، در نوامبر امسال 2019، زیر نظر انجمن بین المللی فیلم های دالارنا، در بخش شمالی استان دالارنا در سویدن، در شهرداری اورشا و مورا برگزار خواهد شد.

این جشنواره زیر نظر انجمن بین المللی فیلم های دالارنا، با هدف شناساندن و نزدیک کردن انسان ها و ملت ها با همدیگر برگزار می شود.

فیلم های این جشنواره توسط داورانی بین المللی که امسال عبارتند:
حمید جعفری، مستند ساز ایرانی ساکن تهران
مارکو …. فیلمساز و عکاس هلندی ساکن سویدن
ملک شفیع فیلمساز افغانستانی ساکن دانمارک.
انتخاب و در نوامبر امسال در استان دالارنا به نمایش گذاشته خواهد شد، که بعد از اتمام جشنواره، احتمال نمایش فیلم ها تحت نام همین جشنواره و نظر انجمن بین المللی فیلم دالارنا و همکاری دیگر انجمن ها در دیگر نقاط استان دالارنا در سویدن بنمایش در .بیاید، نیز می باشد

 درین جشنواره از چند تن از فیلمسازانی که فیلمشان، در جشنواره راه پیدا می کند، به انتخاب داوران  و دبیر جشنواره، در صورتیکه شرایط سفر در اتحادیه اروپا را داشته باشند، برای شرکت در جشنواره و توضیح در مورد فیلم به مخاطبان، دعوت به عمل خواهد آمد.

 برای شرکت کننده ها در جشنواره لوح تقدیر و تندیس جشنواره برای فیلم های برتر این جشنواره تقدیم خواهد شد.

مقررات :

  1.  فیلم های مستند کوتاه و بلندی که توسط فیلمسازهای داخلی و بین المللی با موضوع چهار کشور افغانستان، ایران، عراق و سوریه، با هرموضوعی که به این چهار کشور ربط داشته باشد چون موضوعات تاریخی، باستان شناسی، طبعیت، حیات وحش، اجتماعی که زندگی مردم و مهاجرین این کشورها را نیز در بر میگیرد و …
  2. فیلم ها همه به باید دارای زیر نویس انگلیسی صحیح باشند.
  3. آخرین مهلت ارسال فیلم ها 31 آگست 2019 می باشد
  4. فیلم ها باید از جنوری 2016 به بعد ساخته شده باشند یا کار های تهیه فیلم از این به جنوری 2017 به بعد پایان یافته باشد.
  5.  فیلم ها با کیفیت مطلوب برای داوری اول باید آپلود شده در گوگل درایو، دراپ باکس و یا ویمو با کیفیت مناسب ام پی  یا معادل آن به ایمل جشنواره  فرستاده شود، بعد از داوری، فیلم های انتخاب شده با کیفیت اصلی از فیلمساز درخواست خواهد شد.
  6. فیلم سازان باید به همراه فیلم سی وی و بیوگرافی خود شامل ( نام و نام خانوادگی، تخلص، تاریخ  و محل تولد، ملیت ) ، راهای  تماس مانند ( ایمیل و شماره  موبایل یا …) و یک توضیح مختصر در مورد فیلم شامل ( زمان شروع کار بر روی فیلم و تاریخ پایان کار، در چه کشوری فیلم ساخته شده است و در مورد چه گروهی از مردم، زنان، کودکان، مهاجرین و شخصیت های فیلم دارای چه ملیتی هستند، در صورتیکه این معلومات در فیلم واضح نباشد مانند بعضی فیلم های کوتاه چون اکثراً از مهاجران در کشورهای دیگر فیلم میسازند تا همه چیز واضح شود برای داروان و بعد هم مخاطبینی که می بینند  ) را در فایل پی دی اف بزبان انگلیسی یا فارسی بفرستند.

مهرجان دالارنا العالمي للأفلام الوثائقية

يركز مهرجان دالارنا العالمي للأفلام الوثائقية هذه السنة على الأفلام المنتجة في أفغانستان وإيران والعراق والمنطقة الكردية في العراق.

سوف يعقد المهرجان في نوفمبر 2019 بالتعاون مع جمعية دالارنا العالمية للأفلام. والهدف هو التعريف والدمج بين الناس المتواجدين في كل من بلدية أوشا ومورا في المنطقة الشمالية من محافظة دالارنا.

تتألف لجنة تحكيم مهرجان الأفلام من:

حميد جعفري: منتج أفلام وثائقي من إيران وهو من سكان العاصمة طهران.

Marco Glijnis: منتج أفلام ومصور احترافي من هولندا وهو من سكان السويد.

مالك شافعي: منتج أفلام أفغانستاني يعيش في الدنمارك.

سوف يتم اختيار الأفلام من قبل لجنة التحكيم ومن ثم عرضها في جميع أنحاء محافظة دالارنا خلال شهر نوفمبر.

سيقوم كل من أعضاء لجنة التحكيم والسكرتارية بدعوة منتجي الأفلام الذين تم اختيارهم سابقاً من قبل لجنة التحكيم، ومن ثم توضيح أسباب اختيار الأفلام لتضمينها في المهرجان مع الأخذ بعين الاعتبار صلاحية وإمكانية سفر المنتجين إلى دول الاتحاد الأوروبي.

سيتم توزيع شهادات التقدير على جميع المشاركين في هذا المهرجان وسيتم منح جائزة تمثال المهرجان لأفضل فيلم.

وبعد انتهاء المهرجان من المرجح أن يتم ترشيح عرض الفيلم تحت اسم المهرجان وأهدافه بالاشتراك مع الجمعيات والمناطق الأخرى في محافظات في السويد.

لائحة الشروط:

سيتم قبول الأفلام الوثائقية القصيرة أو الطويلة مع حرية اختيار الطابع (على سبيل المثال: تاريخي، الآثار، الطبيعة، الحياة البرية، الحياة الاجتماعية، الهجرة) طبقاً للدول المختارة أعلاه.

على جميع الأفلام أن تكون مترجمة باللغة الإنجليزية.

يجب أن تكون الأفلام منتجة من يناير 2016 أو بعد ذلك التاريخ.

آخر موعد لتسليم الأفلام هو 31 أغسطس 2019.

يجب تحميل ملفات الفيديو على Google Drive أو Dropbox أو Vimeo مع الأخذ بعين الاعتبار أن يكون نوع صيغة الملف Mp4 أو ملف من نفس النوعية. وترسل إلى البريد الإلكتروني dalafilmfestival@GMAIL.COM أو للدخول في مرحلة التحكيم الأولى عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي إلى سكرتارية المهرجان. وبعد مرحلة تقييم سيتم اختيار أفضل الأفلام من قبل السكرتارية  للاشتراك. يجب أن تكون جودة الأفلام عالية.

على جميع المشتركين إرسال السيرة الذاتية ولمحة عنهم متضمنة: الاسم الأول، الاسم الأخير، تاريخ الولادة، مكان الولادة، الجنسية، طريقة التواصل (على سبيل المثال: البريد الإلكتروني أو رقم الهاتف الجوال)، مقدمة شرح قصيرة عن محتوى الفيلم متضمنة التالي: تاريخ بدء تصوير الفليم، تاريخ انتهاء تصوير الفيلم، مكان/بلد تصوير الفيلم، فئة الناس الذين تم تصويرهم في الفيلم (لاجئون، نساء، أطفال، وذلك مع تضمين الجنسية) وعند تصوير اللاجئين يجب ذكر بلد الأصل لهؤلاء الناس وبلد تواجدهم مع ذكر جميع التفاصيل التي يجب ذكرها في المقدمة القصيرة. وذلك باللغة الإنجليزية والملف يجب أن يكون بصيغة PDF.
